About me

Counseling is my second career, my first was in music, specifically piano performance. I hold a Master of Science in Counselor Education from Portland State University (MS), am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I (CADCI), and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).

My background is Estonian, my family emigrated to the US after World War II which gives me an appreciation of how difficult it can be to live with your feet in two worlds. I have always had a deep interest in social issues in general and have worked extensively with children both as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and during my internship.

Interventions used include expressive play therapy techniques, sandtray and genograms, none of which are limited to my work with children as well as mindfulness.

Gardening is important to me, having learned the basics while living in England as a tenant at Monks House, Rodmell (Virginia Woolf's home). This interest led to my earning a Certificate in Horticultural Therapy here in Portland. With music, these are two other modalities that I am able to draw on in session.

I also enjoy photography of which the calla lily above is an example!

Fees

My fee is $100 per 50 minute session and $120 for couples. Reduced fees are available on a limited basis for clients who are experiencing financial hardship.

Fees are payable by cash or check, due at the beginning of each session.

I am not currently affiliated with any insurance plan.
